Building the affinity bond with your customers is part of the process of regular contact with them so they have the sense that they know you better. When they get to know you better they automatically have more faith in your advice and more confidence in your products or services.
Every time we contact a customer (or friend or loved one), we add another fiber in the rope that ties that customer to us making him or her more committed to us.
There are many ways to make contact with a customer.
1. Phone call
2. Personal visit
3. Email
4. Card or Letter
One of the most effective ways to reach a customer with a personal message it with a written letter. This can be done as a Thank You Card, a note with a special offer, a Holiday Card, birthday card or a “Just Because Card.” Emails are less and less effective these days. As they lose their effectiveness, the personal, first class cards and post cards are gaining in effectiveness, once again.
How often does someone with whom you do business send you a birthday greeting? It is unfortunately rare. If and when it happens, you remember it, don’t you!
I advise every marketing client I work with to begin a methodical program of regular contact via some type of written communication. I suggest a minimum of birthday cards, Thanksgiving cards, Holiday cards, and other cards at regular intervals to remind their customers that they exist and appreciate their business. That process is so simple and so inexpensive, it is almost tragic when it is ignored or overlooked!
With the automation available with the Internet it is even easier and less expensive than ever before. For those of you who know the value of Autoresponders it is all automatic.
Imagine notifying your entire customer base of a new item, special offer, or other promotion with simply a few keystrokes! Can it get any easier.
I use the premier quality service that allows me to do this, applying my handwriting, a signature, even a picture to everyone of my customers.
I can even send each one candy, brownies, or some other gift!
Go here now and check it out. You can even try it out on my account! You’ll be glad you did!
To your business success!
